The 'Star Trek' actor reportedly lost his life after he was trapped by his own car in a freak accident in Los Angeles in the early hours of Sunday (19.06.16) morning.

According to TMZ, Anton's friend had got worried when the actor failed to show up to a meeting, so he went to his house in San Fernando Valley and found him "pinned between his car and a brick mailbox, which was attached to a security gate."

The engine was still running and the car was in neutral.

A spokesperson for the actor has confirmed his sad passing, but did not verify his cause of death.
