On Saturday, UFM 100.3 FM’s musical director Ken Low hosted his first K-pop show in six months.
At the Leessang showcase held at Shanghai Dolly at Clarke Quay, Low appeared happy to be back. He took a break from hosting in May after the incident.
Accoridng to a report in The Since 2010, he has been the emcee for most of the K-pop events here involving celebrities.
He took a break from hosting in May after news broke that he was facing two charges in Malaysia of assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage a person’s modesty, during a hen party in Kuala Lumpur.
Low said, “For the first two months, I didn’t feel like talking to anyone at all. I couldn’t handle it, I needed time and space to myself.
“But now I have decided not to let the incident be the focus of my life. Instead, I’m going to use the time to better my life or the lives of the people I care about."
Low is grateful that his wife has remained strong in the face of adversity. Low and Malaysian DJ May Lau were married in Kuala Lumpur in September last year.
He said. “Meeting her is the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me. She’s someone with a very big heart and I have to appreciate it."
They have been trying for a child since their wedding.
Low said, “Actually I would consider foster parenting and adoption as well, because we really want kids. The doctor told us that we have to do it four times a week to even have a chance of my wife getting pregnant.”
That’s tough for now as Lau is based in Malaysia and Low is with her only on weekends.
The long-term plan is for them to live in the same country.
