DJ Mike Kasem's 82-year-old father Casey Kasem, who was reported missing by his daughter on May 14, has been found in Washington.
The elder Mr Kasem, who is a well-known American radio icon, appeared to be in “good shape” when authorities tracked him down in Washington State, according to a NY Daily News report on Thursday.
Mr Kasem suffers from Lewy Body Dementia, a progressive disease that has left him barely able to speak. In addition, he is forced to eat with a feeding tube.
Despite this, authorities say that he had been found seated upright and appeared to have been lucid and aware of his rescuers.
The search for Mike's father had begun after a Los Angeles County judge ordered a probe into his whereabouts on Monday.
Casey Kasem had been staying in a nursing home until the week he had gone missing.
His daughter Kerri Kasem and her two siblings from her father’s previous marriage, Mike and Julie, have been locked in a public legal battle with Jean since last year.
They claim Jean barred them from seeing their dad after he became too frail to visit them on his own.
