Singer Sita Chan, 26, killed in car crash

Hong Kong singer Sita Chan 陳僖儀, 26, was killed in a car crash in Yau Ma Tei early Wednesday morning.Ettoday reported that the singer who debuted in 2011, was preparing to return home to her Harbourside residence around 2am on April 17. She had been practising her songs for three hours at her music teacher, Lam Tak Bo's (林德寶) place.According to police investigations, her death could have been a result of fatigue and low visibility from the thick fog late at night. Sita reportedly took a wrong turn and lost control of her car. She then hit the right-hand curb, bounced back, and struck the road’s central divider.Sita was rushed to the emergency room at Kwong Wah Hospital. She was declared dead at 4.16am.After learning of her death, Sita’s family burned offerings at the scene of the accident, which police had sealed off. The police also towed the singer’s damaged Lexus to the police force vehicle pound, in order to further investigate the car and clarify the cause of the accident.Sita’s management company, Sun Entertainment Culture, said the staff was shocked and saddened by her unexpected death.Lam said, “Sita came to my place to record her song. She excitedly asked to take a photo with me. Afterward, we ate out with our colleagues. We chatted very happily together, but didn’t, drink. At 12 midnight, we left separately.‘Sita’s other music teacher, Teresa Carpio (杜麗莎) cried in grief over Sita’s death. “Oh my God! She was very promising. When she was in school, she was my pupil. She took more than twenty lessons. When she was in school, I told her to not spend too much time in school, since her singing was quite good!‘Sita made her singing debut in 2011. That same year, she won the Best Newcomer Award at the Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards. A year later, she released her first EP, Crazy Love, and her first studio album, Let Me Find Love.
