Local DJ Glenn Ong announced his departure from Class 95FM on Jan 9, but many are curious as to the reason behind his sudden departure.
The New Paper via Today reports that Ong, 44, known as The People's DJ, said: "After 19 years at the top of the Class, it’s time for me to take a break! I’d like to pursue more sleep, travel and go for MMA workouts every day! I’ve never liked saying goodbye so I won’t!"
Georgina Chang, Vice President of English Programming (Music), Radio, MediaCorp said: “We’re disappointed to see Glenn leave, but understand his decision and wish him all the best for the future.”
There has been no mention of whether Ong is leaving for another company.
However, a hint of why he left MediaCorp may just lie in a recent rant on his Instagram.
Two months ago, the veteran jock went on a rant on Instagram about receiving a work message during his holiday in Phuket.
He had captioned his post with: "Our beautiful Kampung home for 1 more day. Can't believe I was woken up this morning by a work message! Gimme a b***** break! #last warning #p*****off #p***off #breakingpoint #gobadboysg"
