Three female models suffered injuries all over their bodies after a confrontation with a man at Circular Road in the early hours of Thursday (Dec 12).
Miss Kuek Ziyi, 23, had been driving two of her friends, Miss Anna Huang, 21, and Miss Esther Lee, 19, to Boat Quay for supper, at around 3am.
However, a man who was about 180cm tall appeared in the middle of the road and blocked their path. According to Lianhe Wanbao, he appeared to be drunk.
When the girls honked at him, he turned aggressive. Not only did he hit her car windows and kicked her vehicle, he also pointed his middle finger and asked loudly what they wanted.
Miss Kuek ignored him and started to drive off. However, the man chased after them and stopped their vehicle. He even kicked the car's bumper till it came loose.
Left with no choice after the man opened her car door, Miss Quek got down her vehicle.
"He then came charging towards me, putting his face near mine. I tried pushing him away, but he punched my face twice," she said.
Two of the man's friends then started pulling him away, and one asked Miss Quek to forgive his friend.
She asked the man for an apology. However, not only did he refuse, he also turned on her and said she had been drunk-driving.
"I wanted to call the police, but he took the chance to get on a cab and escape. I chased after him, hoping to get a photo of him on my phone," said Miss Quek.
When the man realised what she was doing, he turned back, got down the taxi and continued raining blows on her.
Miss Quek's friends rushed forward to help her, but the man shoved both of them onto the road side.
One of them, Miss Huang, hit her head on a rock and vomitted on the spot. She was sent to hospital after vomitting blood when she reached home.
A policeman on patrol happened to pass by and assisted the women afterwards.
