Miss World Singapore 2014 finalists stand to win artiste management contracts, and the winner of this year’s pageant will receive a 1 oz. 999.9 limited edition collectors gold coin as well.
According to ST Communities, for the first time in the local pageant, three finalists of this year’s Miss World Singapore 2014 pageant will be offered a one-year contract with Zingshot Productions Pte Ltd, a movie production company.
This means the three finalists handpicked will stand a chance of being cast in a movie.
Mr Allan Moo, Vice President of Talent Management and Production of Zingshot Productions, shared:
“At Zingshot Productions we believe the quality and sophistication of Miss World Singapore makes it an excellent platform to us to search for potential stars. The ever popular Maggie Cheung was a semi-finalist in Miss World 1983 and used that platform as a launching-pad into the entertainment industry."
Mr Moo explained further: “The pageant is good training ground for potential stars and that will act as a rite of initiation, especially for the three chosen finalists. The scrutiny that the contestants will be under is similar to that of the movie industry where each person will need to be comfortable in her own skin and authenticity is valued over just a pretty face.”
Miss World Singapore is a beauty pageant held to choose a representative for Singapore to participate on the global stage in the Miss World pageant.
On top of beauty, the Miss World Singapore representative will have to adopt a charity cause and actively promote it during her reign.
The swimwear segment for the pageant was held at the end of August and the gala event was held on 13 September 2014 at One Farrer Hotel & Spa’s ballroom.
