Like hundreds of thousands of people around the world, events manager Ben Logan Sng started learning and performing the Gangnam Style dance last year.
But the reason he did it is probably unique to him - many people told him he looked like Gangnam Style singer Psy.
Mr Sng, 29, who is also an occasional emcee, says: "I was at an event when a video of Psy dancing came on. I happened to be standing beside the screen and people started commenting that I look like him."
When the realisation dawned on him, he was game enough to capitalise on it."I received a few requests to do the Gangnam Style at events I hosted, so I did it.
My friends taught me a few moves from the music video."On Monday night, he won a Psy impersonation contest at St James Power Station's Neverland 2.
He edged out four other finalists after dancing to Gangnam Style and Psy's new song, Gentleman, to win two tickets to the first night of the Singapore Social Concerts on Friday and Saturday and the chance to meet the stars performing at the concert, including Aerosmith, Carly Rae Jepsen and Psy himself.
The concerts are held in conjunction with yesterday's inaugural Social Star Awards at Marina Bay Sands, which celebrates the most popular personalities and brands in fields such as music, movies, television, sports and, games.
Mr Sng did not think he would win as such events are "unpredictable", but his friends, who had urged him to take part in the contest, thought otherwise. "They assumed I'd win as I look like him."
