Katy Perry has come under fire for releasing a song with uncanny similarities with another by Sara Bareilles.

According to a report on The Straits Times Communities, the pop songstress has since become the subject of harsh criticism after allegations that the track bore similarities to Bareilles's song Brave.

Katy Perry most certainly isn't the first to be accused of such crimes, and she most certainly won't be the last.

Here is a list of other stars who have recently been accused of the same:

1.Madonna's Justify My Love

Public Enemy accused Madonna's controversial 1990 song Justify My Love of sampling the instrumentals from Security Of The First World. Madonna claimed she'd never heard the song.

2. Coldplay's Viva La Vida

Coldplay, one of the world's most popular bands, were accused by Guitarist Joe Satriani of plagiarising his 2004 song If I Could Fly.

3. The Beatles' Come Together

Even The Beatles did not escape plagiarism accusations. Big Seven Music Corporation sued The Beatles in 1973, accusing the band of ripping the beat and lyrics from Chuck Berry's You Can't Catch Me.

4. Radiohead's Creep

Radiohead's smash single Creep was accused of plagiarising The Hollies' 1973 song The Air That I Breathe.

5. G-Dragon's Heartbreaker

The K-pop superstar and leader of Big Bang was accused of taking the beats of Flo Rida's Right Round for his solo single. The scandal continued for months until G-Dragon performed the song with Flo Rida himself to silence such rumours.
