J-rock band Luna Sea gets warm greeting from excited S'pore fans

Japanese rock band Luna Sea arrived in Singapore yesterday, February 6, 2013, for their debut concert here. Their fans were out in full force, waving banners at the airport, screaming and even singing the band's hits at the arrival area at Changi Airport T2.The photos were posted on the Luna Sea Singapore Street Team facebook page by fans like Myra Shizuka and members of the LSSST, along with videos of the band members' arrival. Fans described the band members as friendly and The band was formed in 1986 by bassist J and rhythm guitarist Inoran in high school, but officially was formed in 1989 with the recruitment of lead guitarist Sugizo, drummer Shinya and vocalist Ryuichi.They are best known for their international smash hit "I For You", which was released in 1998. The band disbanded in 2000 but reunited in 2010, after a 10-year hiatus. They are also said to have pioneered the visual-kei movement.This is the first time they are performing in Singapore, also the last stop of their Asia leg, after Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.Luna Sea will be performing at the The Star Theatre, The Star Performing Arts Centre at Star Vista in Buona Vista come Friday, Feb 8 for their "The End of the Dream" tour.
