When Elanne Kong's chose not to renew her singing contract with management agency Star Entertainment upon its expiration, it was rumoured that the company had casted her aside in favour of Linda Chung, and chose to invest the bulk of their resources on her.

On Tuesday (Jun 11), Linda took to the media to explain that she did not force Elanne out, and that she was not trying to curry favour from within the company.

Soon after, Elanne also sought to put an end to this issue by clarifying why she left Star Entertainment, reported Mingpao.

Elanne wrote on her Weibo account: "I must respond to the latest reports about me.

The reason why I left Star Entertainment is extremely clear:

"(1) My contract really did expire.

(2) After consideration, I found my path to pursue in and I want to thank all the love Star Entertainment has given to me.

I'm really grateful!"

So, please don't drag Linda Chung into the water, she is a good friend of mines!"

We supported each other during our time together at the company, and that felt especially warm.

"My singing dream had always been there, I believe my dream will come true one day.

" Linda responded to Elanne's comment simply with a "kiss" emoticon, which seems to imply that their friendship will be stronger for this storm.
