The funeral of Hung Kuen Grand Master of a generation, Lau Kar Leung, began yesterday (July 23) at the Universal Funeral Parlour with the actual funeral taking place today.

According to an article in hktopen, disciples of the martial arts director performed a lion dance for him yesterday .

Nine major martial arts schools also sent their representatives to perform in the lion dance as a tribute to the late Lau Kar Leung.

Widow Mary Jean Reimer (Yung Jing Jing) decorated the venue and spent several millions to purchase niches in Po Fook Hill for Lau Kar Leung's ashes, as well as the funeral hall decorations that resembled a luxurious martial art hall in movies.

When asked if Lau had any final wishes, Yung Jing Jing revealed that he wanted to do more charity work. Thus, a Lau Kar Leung charitable fund will be announced later.

She added that in the days after Lau's passing, she and her daughters were very saddened.
