Former 5566 leader Tony Sun admits time is ripe for a reunion

Taiwanese singer Tony Sun has spoken up on the possibility of a 5566 reunion amid clamours for the boyband to get back together.

Fans of the now-defunct boyband, which were immensely popular in several countries, including Singapore, during their heyday in the early 2000s, called for the members to reunite after singer Yoga Lin performed their break-out hit, Disappointment (我难过) at the Golden Bell Awards recently.

When quizzed about his thoughts on a potential reunion, Sun said that a combination of Yoga's performance and the still-fervent support from the fans made him feel that the time is ripe for a reunion, reported My Paper.

However, he did say that while he is open to performing with the rest of the band, they have to be able to find time out of their current commitments, much less agree to the proposal, before anything can be worked out.

Sun added that the best possibility for the group to reunite will be through a performance item.
