Eric Khoo's crush on Linda Blair and other stories in new book

Director Eric Khoo, 47, remembers watching horror movies with his late mother when he was "very small". She was a big fan of the genre and there would be outings to Capitol Theatre to catch flicks such as It's Alive (1974), about a killer monster baby no less. By the time he watched The Exorcist (1973) in the mid-1970s, he was no longer scared by such movies. Instead, he tells Life! with a laugh: "I had a big crush on Linda Blair and I was wondering how did they make this girl look so ugly and how did they make her head turn around?"He is one of the local film figures who have contributed their stories to Behind The Camera: Personal Recollections Of Contemporary Singapore Cinema. The book will be launched on Saturday March16 at Objectifs in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the homegrown centre for photography and film. It will be available from Objectifs, and also from major retailers at end March, at a recommended retail price of $25.Read the full story in the Straits Times Online
