American illusionist David Blaine was in the vicinity recently for his Asia Tour.

Diving while holdig his breath and swimming with close to 200 sharks at Resorts World Sentosa's S.E.A. Aquarium, he awed Singaporean audiences on Sep 11.

Travelling to the Philippines next, he was challenged by Manny Pacquiao, professional Filipino boxer and politician to something that many would cringe in horror at.

The infamous balut -- Filipino street food that sports a duck egg with a semi-fertilized embryo.

He was also challenged to a fruit that everyone loves and hates here -- durian.

Blaine appeared a little shocked when he saw the chick inside the shell, but he ate it anyway as if he was used to its taste.

“It tastes like an egg,” world’s famous magician David Blaine said as he ate balut.

Following the balut challenge was the durian challenge, which he did, picking the fruit with his bare hands.

To his delight, he said that the durian tastes like mango.
