At actor Chang Chen's star-studded wedding at Spot - Taipei Film House on Monday, his bride Chuang Wen-ju did not toss her bouquet.

Instead, she handed it to Shu Qi, a co-star of Chang's whose name had been linked to his romantically, and spoke in her ear, wishing her happiness, said Taiwan Apple Daily via The Straits Times Communities.

The touching gesture left the actress speechless, said the report.

Shu Qi was just one of the big names who almost eclipsed the wedding couple. Oscar-winning director Lee Ang, who heads the jury of the Golden Horse Awards last Saturday, rushed to the banquet after a day of judging, said China Times.

Tony Leung Chiu Wai and his wife Carina Lau flew in from Hong Kong for one night for the wedding, but Leung, who is nominated for a Golden Horse Award, will return to Taiwan for the show.

The two stars, like the groom, are managed by director Wong Kar Wai's Jet Tone. Chuang and Chang, both 37, had met when she was working for the company as his assistant. They dated for four years before the wedding.

Lau said Chuang struck her as a gentle person. The actress said: "There was a moment Chang Chen felt a need for change, so he's married. I want them to have a child soon."

Wong also attended the banquet, alongside directors Hou Hsiao-hsien and Wei Te-sheng, actors Chen Bo-lin and Yo Yang, and singer Chang Chen-yue.
