Barbie Hsu recently took part in Mainland Chinese reality TV program, "Are You Normal?". Perhaps inspired by her participation in the program, Barbie chatted openly about her phobias, including her fear of miscarriage during her pregnancy.
Barbie joked that her one-year-old daughter was like her boss, whose every wish was her command. However, being a loving mother did not change Barbie’s obsession with vanity.
She admitted that immediately after giving birth, she was so desperate to lose weight that she resorted to only drinking liquids – such as confinement soup – and no solids for a week.
At the end of the week, she nearly collapsed out of sheer hunger and exhaustion.
On whether she was prone to odd tendencies, Barbie laughed and insisted that she was generally quite normal, unlike her younger sister Dee Hsu, who was very accident prone.
Barbie revealed that she did however go through a stressful phase during her pregnancy.
She was paranoid about her fetus being a stillborn and asked the doctor at every appointment, “Is the heart beart gone?!”
This upset the doctor so much that he once reprimanded her, as he was afraid of his other patients overhearing the conversation and being frightened.
