AKB48 and its sister groups are searching for new group members and will be holding a draft to find them.
According to a report in Jpopasia.com, AKB48 announced the draft at their Kyocera Dome concert. The event, named "AKB48 Group Draft Kaigi", will be held November 10.
Captains from the various 48 groups will be present at the draft. The captains will choose girls to join their team as a trainee member. While mainly their decision, the leaders will still consult with their respective managers on the decision.
In order to be part of the draft, girls interested in joining the 48 family must pass a separate audition process during an event titled "AKB48 Group Draft Candidate Audition".
Like sports drafts, the candidates will have no say as to which group or team they get chosen to join.
More details regarding the AKB48 draft will be announced at a later date.
