If you have seen films like The Green Inferno, you'll realise how scary it actually can get if you get captured by native tribes living in the jungle.
According to Wittyfeed, that's actually what happened to a woman and her boyfriend during a trip to Papua New Guinea.
The website reported that Michelle Clemens and Matthew Lovane were attacked by the tribesmen in the remote jungle and were made to strip under the threat of death and tortured.
Inquisitr reported that Matthew was then tied to a tree and his companion Michelle was gang-raped.
“They were totally feral and we were at their mercy. I thought we’d vanish into the jungle and never be seen again", said Matthew
Thankfully, they miraculously managed to escape from their captors.
The couple fled the tribesmen as they were being marched along a ridge.
Friendly villagers rushed to their aid after the couple's daring escape. They were then evacuated with a helicopter.
Though injured and traumatised by what happened, the couple are safe and recovering in a hospital.
