On New Year's Eve, the Singaporean socialite forwarded a post by Paul Coelho, the writer of The Alchemist, captioning it with "Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life.”
The post, titled "Closing 2015" wrote, "Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person – nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.”
Netizens have since speculated if it was a hint on ending her marriage of two years with Vanness Wu. This is not the first time her social media postings has been linked with trying times in the couple's union.
The couple's marriage first got in the spotlight after a high profile squabble on Instagram in 2014, followed by some ambiguous messages posted by Arissa on her social media, suspected to be her frustrations at Vanness.
Sources from Taiwanese media also claim that the two were seldom seen together in public recently, and did not even celebrate each other's birthdays.
When asked about their marriage, Vanness’ manager said, “We won’t probe into their personal lives. She may not be referring to her marriage. Vanness has been busy filming in China since December, and will only complete his work in March.”
His manager also denied that Vanness and Arissa were getting a divorce.
