Sandara Park gave up fame in Philippines to join K-pop

During a recent episode of a talkshow, 2NE1's Sandara Park talked about her life in the Philippines before joining YG Entertainment as a K-pop trainee.

She revealed that she moved to the Philippines as a fourth grader and lived their until her early twenties, reports Soompi.

“I spent all of my adolescence there,” Sandara Park said.

“I started [my career] there and was active as a celebrity but gave it all up so that I could be a trainee at YG,” she added.

The show's host, Jeon Hyun Moo, asks her, “Were you a popular singer there?”

“I wasn’t just popular, I caused a syndrome,” Sandara Park joked.
