Photographer gets banned from North Korea after taking these haunting photos from the country

Photographer Eric Lafforgue did what many others could not: Show the world how life is really like in North Korea.

According to The Daily Mail, Lafforgue made a trip to the 'hermit kingdom' in 2014 and took photos documenting the widespread poverty and malnutrition in the country.

He took the photos even though he was in the company of state-approved guides. Lafforgue was told to delete many of the photos but managed to save them secretly on his memory card.

Needless to say, the photographer has been banned from North Korea ever since the pictures circulated in the media.
