One man has died due to injuries after the massive stage lights at the construction of a Jolin Tsai concert collapsed on Oct 29.
According to online media reports, the concert was to be held at Guangxi Stadium in Nanning, Southern China.
Chinanews.com said firefighters, rescue workers and police had to pull 14 people out of the wreckage as they were caught under the equipment.
The lights fell was due to alleged budget-related issues, reported Sina Entertainment.
The show which was scheduled for Saturday night (Oct 31) has been cancelled and those who bought tickets can ask a refund, the organisers said in a statement.
An unnamed concert-goer who is involved in events management wrote online that the organisers were trying to increase profits by using cheap materials.
Luckily, he added, the incident didn't happen during the live show. 35-year-old Jolin was not at the scene when the lights fell.
She went on social media to ask her fans to pray for the victims of the incident.
