Miss Germany Sarah Lorraine Riek has issued an apology to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach for her negative comments over Wurtzbach's win in a video interview.

In the clip, Riek expressed her unhappiness with the result, saying "no one voted for Philippines".

The video went viral shortly after it was posted online.

Riek told Missology correspondent Natalia Cruz in the video: "I couldn't believe it. I was so upset because, for me, she (Miss Colombia) was robbed…I was very happy for Colombia, actually. She really deserved it. But I'm very unhappy with the result and so were the other girls, I'm very sorry to say it."

Riek explained in a statement posted on Dec 22 through Miss Universe Germany's Facebook page that "she never intended to offend Miss Philippines in any way", and that she "feels sorry for both girls".

Riek added that she is happy a half-German girl won the crown. According to GMA Online, the original post, which was written in the third person, appears to have been removed.

But that's not all. According to the Inquirer.net, Miss Philippines' trainer and manager Jonas Gaffud described more mischief from Miss Germany, in a Facebook status posted on Dec 22.

His status read:

"So surprised with Miss Germany. She did something bad to our group. Pia asked us to go to her suite as Miss Universe.

"While waiting for the go signal from security, she told us: 'Are you looking for Miss Philippines? She's no longer here she's on her way to New York!'

"Then we said, she just messaged us on Whatsapp. She answered 'how could she text you? She's already in the plane. I saw her!'  Duh? How could she be there and say she saw Pia in the plane? Kaloka diba? Hahahaha.

"After a few minutes, we went to Pia's wonderful room with buffet: -) LOL"
