Taiwanese singer Christine Fan just can't seem to catch a break lately.
She was recently accused of being a diva while attending a show organised by Hunan TV.
According to Asianpopnews, Christine was reportedly unhappy about the programme arrangements and argued with the show director. She then refused to attend rehearsal the next day resulting in her segment being cancelled at the last minute.
Christine has denied the rumours and was very upset when she addressed them. She said that it was a case of miscommunication and misunderstanding between both parties.
She stressed: " I am a professional singer and cherish every opportunity. I regret that I am not able to perform on stage."
Her husband Blackie Chen also stood up for her on Weibo: "I can use my life to guarantee that Christine is never big headed! i know how much she cherishes the chance to sing for everyone. Even if Christine suffers any injustice, she will never bad-mouth others. She always put others before herself. I am willing to use my life to prove this!"
However, following these statements, a crew working on the show exposed his account of the incident.
He said that the rehearsal was indeed 30 minutes later than scheduled and that Christine had refused to coordinate on the dance segment. She also complained that the environment was not conducive and asked to return to her hotel.
The source said Christine had asked if she could rehearse again but the programme schedule was tight and there was no time to squeeze in another rehearsal on the same day.
Christine did not turn up on the second day of rehearsal and her manager was quoted saying, "The artiste did not sign any contract with Hunan TV, so she has the right not to turn up."
The organiser then decided to cancel her segment.
