A picture of a Korean family has taken the Internet by storm some time ago.

The photo, which has since become a meme mocking plastic surgery, show two attractive parents with aesthetically-challenged children.

The woman in the picture, Taiwanese model Heidi Yeh, has experienced major obstacles in her career and personal life after the photo started making its rounds online.

According to Shanghaiist, the photo has given her 'three years of hell'.

Not only did she lose many potential modelling opportunities, her boyfriend also left her because of rumours that she had plastic surgery.

The controversial family photo was intended to be used as part of a campaign for a Taiwanese cosmetic surgery clinic.

According to The Daily Mail, Heidi insisted that her modelling agency signed a contract with an international advertising agency, stating that the image would only be used by one clinic in Taiwan.

The agreement also allegedly ensured that her photograph could only be reproduced in newspapers and magazines.

However, the advertising agency allegedly allowed another plastic surgery provider called to use the image.

Heidi is now suing the agency for around $220,000.
