Professional wrestler, actor, hip-hop artist and now, Mandarin conversationalist.

John Cena continues to impress with his skills outside the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring, where he is already a 15-time world heavyweight champion.

Speaking in Shanghai on Thursday (June 16), Cena fronted a press conference to announce WWE's multi-year content distribution agreement with PPTV, a Chinese streaming entity.

Known for smack-talking and pounding down opponents, the 39-year-old American displayed his softer side to reporters, quipping that he had to speak slowly due to his "mediocre" Mandarin.

Still, he continued for more than two minutes in the local lingo, encouraging Chinese fans to tune into WWE's weekly Raw and Smackdown TV shows.

A YouTube video of the speech, posted by WWE on Thursday, has already garnered more than 400,000 views, with netizens praising Cena.

The sports entertainment company has big plans for China, and will stage its first live event there in more than three years, in September.

Cena - who made guest appearances in comedy films Trainwreck and Sisters and starred in his own action flick (The Marine) - also showcased his French and Mandarin-speaking prowess at a WWE show in Montreal last year.
