Teen gains 45kg despite healthy lifestyle -- because of brain tumour

In 2013, svelte Lizzie Denison-Ward started gain weight rapidly despite eating healthy and exercising regularly.

However, doctors could not tell her the reason behind her sudden weigh gain. Back then the now 20-year-old was only 54kg (120 pounds) but her weight rose to 99kg (220 pounds).

Shocked by her ballooning weight, Lizzie visited the doctors who claimed that it was her metabolism slowing down and that she had to cut down on the calories.

However, even after cutting down her calorie intake to 1000 per day, there was no change observed, reports Witty Feed.

After exhausting all the possibilities, she decided to get an MRI done which revealed that she had a 4mm tumor on her pituitary gland.

She had the Cushing's disease and would have died from it if her condition had persisted.

By the time, she got the MRI done she had gone up 10 dress sizes. She immediately started with hormone therapy and within 5 weeks, she had lost nearly 20 pounds.

She also underwent a brain surgery and got the tumor removed. Now her body is back to what it was like before and she’s also been leading a healthier lifestyle.
