Former SNSD member Jessica will officially open her own fan club, according to her agency, Coridel Entertainment.

The benefits of joining will include an official fan club card and the chance to preorder a fan meeting ticket, reports The Korea Herald.

Sign-ups will be followed by Jessica's first solo debut with a new album release scheduled in May.

Fans can join online by purchasing tickets on Interpark for 15,000 won (S$17.60). The tickets will be available from April 28 to May 22, and will last around a year until May 31, 2017.

However, netizens have harshly criticised the singer in response to news about the upcoming fan club and accused her of being desperate for money.

Koreaboo has compiled some of these nasty comments:

"Why does a designer need a fanclub I guess she was lying about everything she said."

"First time I’m seeing an article about someone starting a fanclub ㅋㅋ"

"You are now witnessing Jessica’s fundraising process"

"No conscience at all ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ"
