2NE1 leader CL released her much-anticipated single, Lifted on Thursday (Aug 18).
It features her in The Bronx in New York dancing and partying it up in a vivid fashion ensemble.
However, the music video has drawn mixed reactions as some feel like she is misappropriating African-American stereotypes.
Others were disappointed about her singing and rapping about drinking, partying, smoking marijuana and sex, reports The Korea Herald via AsiaOne.
They liked the image and style she had previously adopted as part of 2NE1.
However, these sentiments have not stopped the video from being watched over a million times within a day of its release.
