Malaysian police are looking for the foreign worker assaulted by celebrity blogger Papagomo last week to facilitate investigations into a viral video.
In the clip, the blogger is seen slapping, punching and kicking the worker for allegedly harassing his sister, reports New Straits Times Online.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said it was wrong for the blogger, whose real name is Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, to assault the man.
"We are looking for the victim in the video to assist our probe into the incident. It is wrong and unlawful for anyone to take the law into their own hands," said the Inspector-General.
"He (Papagomo) should have lodged a police report on the foreigner's alleged sexual harassment against his sister," he added.
Khalid also chided such acts of vigilantism, saying that it is not only wrong to hurt another human being but also animals.
The video drew mixed reactions from netizens, with some criticising his action while others taking side with the blogger.
