Invited media and guests had an opportunity to mingle with Formula One McLaren-Honda driver Jenson Button, at the launch of the Michael Kors flagship at Mandarin Gallery on Sept 15. The F1 driver was in town for the recently-concluded Singapore Grand Prix Formula One.

Guests who attended the exclusive event included actor Paul Foster, socialite Jamie Chua and former Miss World Singapore Karisa Sukamto, as they sipped on champagne and nibbled on canapes. The 6,957 square feet unit over two floors is the brand's largest store in Southeast Asia.

"I'm thrilled to be opening a flagship in Singapore for so many reasons," said Michael Kors in a press statement.

"First, it's our largest store in Southeast Asia. Second, it's located in one of the most iconic shopping destinations in the region. And third, we're introducing our men's collection there, something I look forward to sharing with our customers in the region." The store features a shimmering façade inspired by Michael Kors' signature use of metallics and texture. The ground level section showcases accessories such as handbags and small leather goods, along with watches, jewellery, eyewear and a selection of the brand's fragrances.

The women's ready-to-wear line from the MICHAEL Michael Kors label will also be displayed in special rooms, where shoppers can browse, try on clothes and consult with the store's personal stylists. A shoe salon completes the luxe fashion experience.

The upper level will be dedicated to menswear and men's accessories, making it the first stand-alone Michael Kors store in Southeast Asia to offer menswear.
