Zhang Ziyi has had to spend an average of 5 hours a day in the water for her new film THE CROSSING.

According to a report on HKTopTen, Zhang Ziyi struggles for survival on a sinking ship out at sea in one scene. Shooting for the complicated scene went on for almost a week.

Each day, Zhang Ziyi spent an average of five hours in the water.  After shooting she would be so wet that water would pour off her.

Her commitment to filming moved everyone on set.

When Zhang Ziyi won the 50th Golden Horse Award Best Actress Award, she returned to Shanghai from Taiwan to participate in filming for THE CROSSING (TAI PING LUN).

Director Jon Woo led the team to celebrate with Zhang Ziyi as they presented her with flowers and cake.

He praised Ziyi as the pride of the entire team and a great actress; everyone looked forward to her winning again with THE CROSSING.

Shooting of the film's Shanghai scenes will end in early December.
