For Tsai's tune, he was nominated at Singapore's Golden Melody Award for Best Composition.Why him: He works hard and has "a sensitivity towards human emotions and a taste for music", said Ms Lisa Wong, an associate of FDP Music, which manages Troy.What's new: He is planning to release a Mandarin album at the end of the year.Ming Bridges, 20Who is she: She released her debut English album, Who Knows, last February and a Mandarin album, Ming Day, 10 months later.She won Best Local Singer and Best Local Album at the recent Singapore Press Holdings Singapore Entertainment Awards.Why her: She is hardworking, and has humility and a "hunger" to succeed, said Funkie Monkies Productions director Eric Ng. Co-director Xiaohan said her lyrics are edgy and full of depth.What's new: Her new Mandarin album, made up mainly of her own compositions, should be out in August.Seah Hui Xian, 20Who is she: Seah was the winner of Sunsilk Academy Fantasia, StarHub's first reality singing competition, netting a two-year singing contract with Ocean Butterflies.Why her: "She is young but, her voice is pretty good already," said Mr Colin Goh, managing director of Ocean Butterflies. "She just needs a little more training and honing from us to establish her as a recording artist."What's new: A new album is in the works, but no details are available at this point.Derrick Hoh, 27Who is he: He took second place in a 2005 talent competition here, and went on to release two albums. He won the Most Popular Male Artist (Regional) award at the 2011 Singapore Hits Awards. His English single, Forever, stayed at No. 1 on iTunes for five straight days when it was released on Jan 28.Why him: "Derrick is a rare all-round talent.
