Japanese footballer Shinji Kagawa, who plays for Manchester United, enjoyed a meeting with singer and Reds fanatic Olly Murs recently with the pair revealing their admiration for each other.
Murs has just been on tour in Kagawa’s native Japan and before he left the UK he was keen to meet up with the United star to talk football and music, reported ManUtd.com, the club's official website.
Kagawa himself is a big fan of Murs and was delighted with the signed album Olly presented to him. Season-ticket holder Murs chatted to Shinji about the season so far and got a few tips on some Japanese phrases!
“It was a pleasure to meet Shinji. He knew my music and sang a bit of ‘Troublemaker’ which was great. He’s a really good guy,” Olly told ManUtd.com. “And he gave me a few tips on what to say in Japanese!
“It’s always great to come to Old Trafford,” added Olly, who showed off his skills on the hallowed turf in the Foundation’s 2010 United Relief game and Soccer Aid 2010 and 2012. “We’ve had a tough start to the season but have been doing well recently. The fans have been great and are behind David Moyes which is good to see. Hopefully we can continue winning more games.”
