A video of Chan's father was played at the dinner, and when host Yang Lan asked the star how he celebrated his father's 60th birthday, he choked back the tears several times. He then said he was sorry he neglected his parents because he was busy. He said he was remorseful.

Actor Eric Tsang was the emcee of the night. He joked about how Chan is eating and ordering less food as he gets older, and becoming less wasteful.
