What local actor Shaun Chen does when he's lonely

Although actor Shaun Chen has 10 years of acting experience, he has to start from scratch in Taiwan.

According to a report in The New Paper, the 34-year-old will be living there for a year to focus on expanding his career in the region, following in the footsteps of fellow star Christopher Lee.

Chen, who has agents in Taiwan and China, will fly to Singapore and Malaysia only if he scores acting gigs.

Chen went to Taiwan last October to take a shot at the Hong Kong, Taiwan and China markets.

He made a cameo appearance in the 72-episode Taiwanese idol drama Love, Now.

The bachelor puts higher priority on his career over romance for now.

Chen, who went through a high-profile divorce from local actress Michelle Chia in 2011, is not in a hurry to get attached anytime soon.

He said: “If a man does not have a good career, no one will respect him.
I’ve also learnt that to love is not to possess but to give.

‘Chen admitted it gets a little lonely in Taiwan sometimes as he does not have many friends there, so he kills time by hitting the gym, watching movies or checking out street food.
