Stars of the popular television horror drama The Walking Dead dodged zombies and exhibited their survival prowess in an obstacle course at Lasalle College of the Arts yesterday afternoon (Jan 11).
Surrounded by more than 250 screaming fans, actors Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, and Norman Reedus, whose on-screen persona is Daryl Dixon, used Nerf Blasters and Crossbows, toy weapons that fire foam bullets and arrows, to shoot targets, in an attempt to save hostages.
The celebrities then stopped to oblige throngs of adoring fans with selfies, autographs and group photographs, reports ST Communities.
The television show, which releases the second part of its fourth season on Feb 10, is based on a comic book series of the same name. In it, humans fight for their survival in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by flesh-eating zombies, better known as walkers.
Yesterday’s event (Jan 11), organised by Fox Movies Premium and Starhub TV, also included a 1-1/2 hour dialogue session held at the arts school’s Singapore Airlines Theatre, hosted by local actor Adrian Pang.
Some 500 people attended the dialogue, and quizzed the duo on everything from what an average day on the set is like, to how they have seen their characters evolve over the last three seasons.
The Walking Dead Season 4, Part 2, airs on Fox Movies Premium (Starhub TV Channel 622) on Feb 10 at 11.30am, with a same-day encore telecast at 8.10pm.
