Looking elegant at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival, Tiffany Tang donned a long blue dress that was eventually identified as an Elie Saab knockoff.
Tiffany wore the dress thinking it was part of the Elie Saab 2015 collection.
However, after photos surfaced online, a public relations representative from Elie Saab immediately contacted Tiffany’s office and said the dress she wore was not an Elie Saab design, but rather a counterfeit, reports Jayne Stars.
Netizens immediately made snide comments towards Tiffany’s studio, wondering why not a single person on Tiffany’s team recognized the counterfeit item.
Although realizing her mistake, her image took a bit hit after the incident. To investigate the matter further, a staff member from Tiffany’s company reached out to the buying company who purchased the dress for Tiffany and asked for an explanation.
As it turns out, one particular buyer of the company was in charge of finding a dress that suited Tiffany’s preference, but the rest of the office was unaware as to why this happened.
The company is currently trying to contact the specific buyer and apologized to Tiffany for causing her embarrassment.
