Tickets to see The Rolling Stones in concert at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore may have been as expensive as $700, but they were all snapped up just hours after going on sale on Friday morning (Feb 14).
A Marina Bay Sands spokesman confirmed that tickets to March 15 gig sold out within 2 1/2 hours of going on sale at 10am, reported The Straits Times.
The concert at the Sands Grand Ballroom will feature the veteran British band's classic line-up of singer Mick Jagger, guitarist Keith Richards, drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Ronnie Wood. Former guitarist Mick Taylor will also perform, as a guest.
The rockers are best known for defining rock standards such as (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Paint It, Black and It's Only Rock 'N Roll (But I Like It).
The gig, which is part of their 14 ON FIRE worldwide tour, is their first in Singapore in 11 years. They were last in town in March 2003, when they played two nights at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
