Successful Korean actress Han Ga In tells us why she is 'scandal-free'

Source: The Straits TimesKorean actress Han Ga In says her current success has been a long time coming.She is the top female star in South Korea at the moment, ruling over the roost on the small and big screens.Her period drama series, The Moon Embracing The Sun, is among the top series of the year, with its final episode capturing 42 per cent of all viewers in the country.Her latest film, Architecture 101, released in March this year, became the most-watched Korean melodrama flick ever, with more than 4.1 million admissions.The actress, who debuted in 2002, tells local media at a press event here, via a translator: "It's been a long and tedious period to get to this point. I feel like I have waited a long time for this. But ultimately, now that I have gotten the recognition, I think that's all that matters. It's worth the wait."She was in town to promote Architecture 101, which is screening at the Korean Film Festival this year. The festival ends tonight at Shaw Lido with a screening of romantic comedy Couples, about a man who is searching for his missing girlfriend.Architecture 101, directed by Lee Yong Joo and co-stars Uhm Tae Woong, follows the story of an architect whose past love (Han) re-enters his life.Han has been married for seven years to 33-year-old actor Yeon Jung Hoon of Vampire Prosector (2008) fame.With a chuckle, she says: "I think since I've been married for such a long time, I don't find myself embroiled in scandals or have rumours surfacing about my personal life.
