She has a body to die for and is an object of desire in the Japanese porn industry. A male fan even once asked her to autograph his underwear. Yet, Rei Kawashima, 23, thinks she is not sexy enough.

Standing at 1.65m and weighing only 48kg, the Japanese Adult Video (JAV) actress was in town to deejay at Japanese restaurant Haru over the weekend. Having been in the adult entertainment scene for three years, she feels she can still improve on her figure.

The soft-spoken actress told The New Paper in Japanese through a translator: "I feel that my boobs are too small. If I can, I wouldn't mind going for plastic surgery to enhance them from my current C-cup to E-cup."

Kawashima felt that the most difficult thing about her job are the long hours required to film a video. She said: "It's very mentally and physically tiring as it takes over 12 hours to shoot one video.

"I always look forward to indulging in good food, especially desserts, after the shoot. That is my reward and it keeps me going." On average, Kawashima shoots one video a month.

Even though she declined to reveal how much she earns, she said a rookie JAV actress commands about $600 for every video, while a top JAV star can make as much as $40,000 per video.

Kawashima admitted that being in this line can be tough and she occasionally thinks about giving it up. But the lucrative business keeps her going and she always looks forward to shopping with the money.

To prepare for a shoot, Kawashima takes care of her skin and body, especially in the week leading up to filming. She does yoga regularly and cuts down on meals to ensure she looks good in front of the camera.

On days when she is not filming, Kawashima travels to different cities in Japan for promotional events and photo shoots. As she is relatively famous in the country, she has had to fend off unusual requests from fans.

She said with a laugh: "There was a male fan who brought his underwear and asked me to autograph it. I was so surprised, but I had to smile and sign it for him.

"Some fans will ask me to pose in weird and difficult positions when taking photos with them. If I can't do it, I will reject them politely." The actress, who is in Singapore for the first time, sings the praises of local men, compared to Japanese men.

She said: "Singaporean men are more muscular and macho. They are also gentlemanly and nice. "I like guys who are tall and fit, preferably over 1.8m tall. Japanese men are mostly skinny."

Kawashima, who is single, said she hopes to get married soon and to quit the industry. The actress said she is not the type to become jealous if she were to see her boyfriend checking out other women.

She claimed: "It's natural for men to check out women. I'm fine with it." Added the actress: "It's not that I am confident of myself, but I don't want to annoy my boyfriend by whining over a small issue."
