So ironic: Paul Walker's friend reveals what his last words were

Paul Walker's last words before his death were: "Let's go for a drive."

The 40-year-old actor died on Saturday when the Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in smashed into a tree and burst into flames after he and friend Roger Rodas, who was driving the supercar, decided to go out for a short drive at a charity event.

Roger was in the middle of parking the vehicle into a bay when Paul arrived at the fundraiser at high end car shop Always Evolving - which Paul had a stake in - after one of his employees was having difficulty backing the motor into the store.

When Roger took the wheel the 'Fast and the Furious' star went up to him and asked if they could go out in the Porsche as he hadn't driven in it yet.

Paul's friend Jim Torp said: "Roger backed it in to the garage and Paul jumped in and said, 'Hey, let's go for a drive'.

"So they went for a little drive and this is what happened."

The Porsche was a mangled wreck following the fatal accident, but Jim admitted Paul - who is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow - "had to die this way" as he was such a huge fan of fast cars and spent a lot of his movie career acting in them on the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise.

He added to the New York Daily News newspaper: "It's strange.

"[Walker] made his movies. He lived his life and he died fast and furious today. He loved speed, he loved cars, and he had to die this way. He died in a very fast car with his friend."

Paul's girlfriend is reportedly devastated following his sudden death.

The 23-year-old student, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, who lives in Santa Barbara and dated Paul for seven years is being comforted by her mother, Julie, as she struggles to cope following the "horrible" accident.

Jasmine's uncle Barton Bruner told the MailOnline website: "Paul was a really good guy and Jasmine is broken up by this. I went to Thanksgiving with him, played golf with him.

"They had their ups and downs but they were together and looking to spend a bright future together. This is horrible news and unexpected. Her mother is with her and she is comforting her."

The couple reportedly first got together when the 'Fast & Furious' star was 33 and Jasmine was just 16.

Paul's 'Fast & Furious' co-star Tyrese Gibson also broke down in tears while visiting the scene of his death on Nov 30.

The 34-year-old actor-and-rapper stopped by the crash scene in Santa Clarita, California, to pay his respects.

Tyrese remained silent as he walked up to the site carrying a yellow flower in his hand, but was reduced to tears as he approached the tragic scene.

The star then took away a piece of wreckage from the scene, before posting a picture of the scrap metal in his hand on Instagram.
