Siti Nurhaliza's show to boost AIDS fund

Source: The Star/Asia News NetworkPopular pop star Datuk Siti Nurhaliza will auction off two exclusive headscarves in a charity dinner showcase on Jan 30 to raise funds for people living with HIV/AIDS.Siti Nurhaliza said one of the scarves, a red and black chiffon scarf that she wore during a press conference yesterday had Swarovski stones."I want a simple design to go with my simple outfit for this press conference and this is what came out of it," she said yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Grand Hyatt Hotel, the venue for the performance, Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta Bersama Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.The other scarf, she said, would be an elegant piece suitable for the performance and she would want to be involved in giving some input to the design.Muslim headscarves fashion house Fareeda's manager Mawar Karim said the scarves were specially designed for Siti Nurhaliza and were was not available on the market.The showcase with spiritual and inspirational music would feature Siti Nurhaliza, a Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporter for the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, performing for the first time songs from her 2009 album Tahajjud Cinta and along with her other popular songs.She would be backed by fusion ethnic music group Mohram, with musical arrangement by Aubrey Suwito."The plight of people living with HIV is a cause that is always dear to my heart. My involvement in the programme opens my eyes to the realities of HIV and AIDS," she said, adding that her performance would be a gift from her heart.Proceeds from the auction and the dinner showcase would be channelled to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and Yayasan Ihitimam Malaysia.Corporate organisations and interested parties are invited to contribute through sponsorship of RM100,000.Alternatively, tables for the dinner showcase are priced at RM35,000 (S$14,000) (Diamond), RM20,000 (Platinum) and RM10,000 (Gold).
