Japanese stars Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao to tie the knot

30 December 2014 / 1 year 9 months ago

Some fans will weep, and some fans will cheer: on-screen couple Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao reveal that they have been dating for 9 years, and are going to tie the knot!

The couple gained a lot of attention for announcing their engagement, which is said to be happening by the end of this year.

Matsumoto is a member of one of Japan’s top boy band, Arashi. Inoue Mao is an award winning actress, most known for her role in Hana Yori Dango.

Matsumoto, 31, and Inoue, 27, met when they both starred in the hit 2005 drama “Hana Yori Dango”.

According to Arama Japan, that’s where their relationship begun.

The couple have been seen going on dates, but Matsumoto’s agency Johnny’s Jimusho have been denying and greatly opposing their relationship until now.

In 2013, rumours of Matsumoto and Inoue dating started again when they attended Hana Yori Dango’s co-star Oguri Shun and Yamada Yu’s wedding.

Arama Japan says that it is likely that Johnny’s Jimusho gave permission due to suffering a big embarrassment when one of SMAP’s boy band member Kimura Takura and Kudou Shizuka’s marriage was leaked.
