Scarlett Johansson has a dark side to her usually-composed image

Scarlett Johansson admits she is a "controlling" person.

The 'Don Jon' actress always appears calm and collected, but says she is capable of losing control completely and is secretly quite manipulative.

In an interview with the new UK issue of Esquire magazine, she said: "I keep it together. I am relatively composed but I can also lose my s**t. I'm pretty controlled, and probably controlling, too, for better or worse. I'm working on it."

The blonde bombshell - who recently got married to French journalist Romain Dauriac - says her divorce from actor Ryan Reynolds was a low point in her life, but she managed to pull through thanks to the support of her friends and family.

Scarlett said: "It was a crazy time. I had problems in my family and publicly, in my relationship - all that stuff. Things are more manageable now.

"I have a very close family who are supportive, and great friends and I've been working on some really interesting stuff. So even when the s**t hits the fan, it's usually OK."

The 28-year-old star is still trying to shed the hyper-sexualised image which has haunted her since she first broke into Hollywood, which she blames on her womanly curves.

She quipped: "I think any woman who is curvy and who wears a gown to an event is suddenly super-sexualised. I mean, at the time I was 18, 19. I was young. I've always been curvy. It runs in the family.

"Throw on an evening frock and suddenly you have boobs and everyone is like: bombshell! Instantly it was 'the new Marilyn Monroe'."
