Hong Kong police have arrested a 24-year-old man for impersonating as a doctor at United Christian Hospital.
The man, who is a rich second generation, impersonated as Dr Chan Chinpang entered into a ward and read the medical files of the patients. He even went as far as to examine patient and discussed with the patient’s family on his illness.
A nurse found him unfamiliar and alerted the security officers. The hospital subsequently looked through its CCTV and discovered that the man was actually an impostor doctor, reports Asianpopnews.
The man, whose surname is Mo, is tall and handsome, and bears slight resemblance to TVB actor Ruco Chan. Mo reportedly was very popular among the nurses and patients when he impersonated as a doctor.
Mo studied medical three years ago in Australia, but had to give up his studies after failing his exams. Besides bearing slight resemblance to Ruco Chan, the doctor’s name Chan Chinpang which Mo impersonated, is also coincidentally Ruco’s Chinese name.
When asked to comment on the case, Ruco said, “This is so bizarre. I hope the nurses don’t think that he is me?” Ruco said that it was strange that the hospital staff did not realise that there was an impostor doctor.
“Maybe the hospital is very busy. Luckily, nothing serious happened.” Ruco also said that this case could be use as a reference in their series.
