Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's split came "out of the blue".
The 'Give it 2 U' singer and his wife announced their separation earlier this week, but DJ Joe Bermudez says he was shocked, as they seemed fine when he performed on the same bill recently.
He told Fox news' FOX411: "They looked really happy. I would never have guessed that this was coming. A lot of people blame the 'Blurred Lines' video for their split but I don't see it. I feel like this is out of the blue. They looked very much in love to me."
Paula had previously claimed she was OK with Robin's raunchy video for mega hit 'Blurred Lines' - which featured him posing with topless models - but since their split it has been said she was furious with him for another performance, at the MTV Video Music Awards last year, when Miley Cyrus suggestively twerked against him.
Robin, 36, cancelled two tour dates ahead of the split being announced and has since said he is trying to win Paula, 38, back.
He said: "I'm just trying to get her back ... You know, [I'm] just trying to figure it out, man."
Robin dedicated his 2007 hit 'Lost Without U' to his estranged spouse - who he has been married to for almost nine years, and with whom he has three-year-old son, Julian - during his concert in Fairfax, Virginia, last night (27.02.14).
He told the crowd: "For y'all that don't know - me and my wife separated, but I'm trying to get my girl back. She's a good woman."
Robin also had four huge floral arrangements delivered '2 Guns' star Paula at their home in Los Angeles yesterday. So far she has not commented on their split.
