Since its debut in January 2010, Jiangsu Satellite TV's "If You Are the One" has become the most popular TV dating show in China. Millions of Chinese viewers at home and abroad rush to watch the latest episodes aired on weekend nights.According to a report on, the controversial reality show challenges the more traditional dating program format, features humour, conflicts, and offers all kinds of turns and twists.In every episode, there is a lineup of 24 female guests and five male bachelors. The female guests will learn more about each male hopeful through watching video clips and on-the-site interactions. Then they decide whether they should dismiss him by switching the podium light off. The man who survives three rounds of test will gain the right to vie for the heart of his dream girl.The program also reflects the younger generation's outlook on life, values and society. That's probably one of the reasons it has been so successful.
