Keira Knightley has confirmed she and husband James Righton are expecting their first child together.

The 'Imitation Game' actress and her musician husband James Righton, 31, will welcome their first child into the world next spring.

A spokesperson for the 29-year-old beauty said rumours the couple, who got married in May 2013, are expecting a baby are true, but told today (12.12.14) that the actress will not be making any further comment about her pregnancy.

The official announcement comes just one day after multiple sources claimed Keira was already in her second trimester.

The British star previously revealed she would love to star in a film about infertility.

Discussing her fantasy film script last summer, she said: "The horrendous issue of trying to have a baby when you can't.

"I've seen friends who've been through this, it seems like one of the most dramatic things that can happen to half of the population - and actually, the other half as well because, my god, the unbelievable toll it takes on male partners - and there are no good films about it."

The 'Atonement' star also previously admitted she was eager to have children, but insisted she would never give up her career to raise a family.

Speaking last year, she said: "I don't want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at."

Keira and James started dating in February 2011 and tied the knot in front of just 11 guests in Mazan in the South of France last year.
